Turn Your Points
Into Incredible Travel

A great redemption isn't about spending the fewest points, it's about getting the most value from them.

Learn how to search smarter, transfer strategically, and book travel that would normally cost thousands.

A point is only worth what you actually get for it.

The same 25,000 Hyatt points could be worth $250 in some bookings — or $1,000+ in others. The difference comes down to where, when, and how you redeem.

Section 1

The Redemption Process

Search Award Availability

Find flights and hotels with award availability before transferring your points.

Popular Tools:

  • Seats.aero
  • Point.me
  • Roame
  • Google Flights (cash prices)
  • Hyatt, Hilton & Marriott websites

Compare Cash vs Points

Not every redemption is a good deal. Compare the cash price to the points required before booking.

Book Your Trip

Complete your reservation and enjoy travel for a fraction of the normal cost.

Simply Points Travel™ recommends that you book directly with hotels and airlines by first transferring your points, rather than booking through the credit card portals. The value is typically higher, you earn hotel and airline rewards, and there is far less hassle when booking direct when you plans change!

Avoid Costly Errors

Avoid These Common Mistakes

MistakeWhy it matters
Never transfer points before confirming award availability. If award space disappears, your points may be stuck in a program you can't use.
Don't assume the cheapest award is the best value.A 50,000-point booking can be worse than a 70,000-point booking if the cash price is much higher.
Consider taxes and fees before booking. Some 'free' awards come with hundreds of dollars in taxes, fuel surcharges, or resort fees.
Compare transfer partners before moving points.Different partners charge very different amounts for the same flight or hotel.
Once transferred, points usually can't be moved back.Transfers are almost always one-way. Only move points when you have a confirmed booking plan.
Maximize Your Flexible Points

Transfer Points

Flexible points from Chase, AMEX, Capital One, and Citi become far more valuable when you transfer them directly to airline and hotel partners. The same points can unlock business class flights, luxury hotels, and all-inclusive resorts for a fraction of the cash price.

The right transfer partner can double or triple your value — but it pays to compare before you move any points.

Important

Create loyalty accounts with all airlines and hotels now so you can transfer points when ready!

All-Inclusive Resorts

All-Inclusive Resorts

Hyatt Ziva Cancun, Zilara Cap Cana, and Secrets Moxché often cost $600–$1,200+ cash but book for 25,000–45,000 points per night, including food and drinks.

Luxury City Hotels

Luxury City Hotels

Park Hyatt and Andaz properties in cities like New York, Tokyo, and Paris can be 3¢+ per point in value.

Family Suites & Resorts

Family Suites & Resorts

Standard suites at Hyatt resorts give you space and amenities that would cost thousands in cash.

Real Example

What a Good Redemption Looks Like

Cash price$850 / night
Hyatt points25,000 / night
Value per point3.4¢

$850 ÷ 25,000 = 3.4 cents per point

That's considered an outstanding redemption. Anything above 2¢ per point is typically a strong use of Hyatt points.

Pro Tip

Don't automatically redeem Chase points through the Chase Travel℠ portal. Before booking, compare the number of points required through the portal with transferring your points to Hyatt. In most cases, transferring your points can save thousands of points and provide significantly more value.
